Study on the Mechanism of Motion Interaction between Soil and a Bionic Hole-Forming Device

Due to the lack of water resources, main agricultural planting method used in northwest region China is plastic film mulching, with precision hole sowing performed on after mulching. However, conventional hole-forming devices damage compactness soil while moving film, causing seed misplacement. Therefore, this study designed a bionic device based oriental mole cricket. In order explore interaction between and soil, typical discrete element particle model was established, its contact parameters were calibrated. An experiment conducted compare performance using multi-body dynamics (DEM-MBD) coupled simulations. The results revealed that caused less disturbance during process could reduce operation resistance compared traditional device. Compared square cone-shaped devices, smallest, at 7.51 N. This work provides reference for optimization sowing.
